dublin docklands development authority sought ideas for a new quayside landscape treatment that would act as a flood relief barrier on the south side of the river liffey.

the engineering requirements necessitated a 450mm high barrier. this was integrated into a new surface which stretches across the ‘campshire’ or quay, and folds down over the quay wall to form a new pedestrian route at the edge of the river.
