stanley holdings are developing a new town to the north of dublin and invited four landscape architects: dermot foley landscape architects, mitchell & associates, sla and gross max, to provide ideas for the main public space.

the space will act as a transport interchange and connection between two main retail areas.

the design includes a large paved area to cater for what is envisaged as sustained pedestrian use. the main space is partially demarcated by long internally lit benches and by a transition to a slightly higher threshold at the built edge to acommodated partially sheltered cafe and dining areas.
